November 2010
Happy Holidays to you, and welcome to November’s Journey,
I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. Once again, I find myself a little behind on this letter. November was quite busy, not only with my daily painting, but I also found myself needing to build a new studio. So with a hammer in one hand and a saw in the other, I began to build, and next thing you know, it’s Christmas.
November was a wonderful month to paint, with a chill in in the air and snow on the ground, nature provided some lovely scenes. This time of the year has bright, but soft warm light, with stunning cool shadows. The only downside to this time of year, is that the light moves so fast that you don’t have time to think. This can bring a wonderful feeling of moving freely, not thinking, just doing, and before your know it, you are finished, pondering how quickly everything just happened.
By the way, I am the featured cover artist for the December’s Mountain Connection. This was part of winning Best of Show for the Evergreen “Paint, Shoot, Sculpt” plein air event. I feel quite honored to be on the cover along with having a letter about the artist. If you didn’t get one in the mail, it can be seen at www.mtnconnection.com.
So please sit back, relax, and enjoy November’s Journey of Plein Air 365.
Sincerely,
Ted
