November 2009
Hello my friends,
Welcome to November’s journey of Plein Air 365. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with great friends, family and food. I myself, had a fantastic Thanksgiving with so much for me to be thankful for. All I could do was sit back and enjoy.
November was a traveling month for my journey. I went everywhere from Northern Colorado all the way down to Southern Colorado and everywhere in between. Crested Butte was a favorite this month. What a charming little town. This is where we had our family reunion and Thanksgiving celebration. Everyone treated us like we were locals. This is quite a nice feeling when I am out painting and the people say “Hey I saw you out painting, how’d it come out?” Who would think anyone would remember me, let alone, pick me out from all the other flannel wearing guys walking around. Anyway, it was just a great time there. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say thank you to my extended family, I am truly thankful and blessed to know that they would have me in their lives and to have so many gracious people in my life.
I can’t believe December is here and the end of the year is very near. Since December is known as the month of lights, this is what I am going to try to focus on this month. Trying to capture some of the stunning night lights that only December brings. A whole new and exciting challenge, painting at night, and trying to stay warm (sounds like a hot toddy time to me!).
I would also like to say thank you to Bart of the Art Gallery in Vancouvre, WA. for having me in his gallery. I am thrilled to be showing on the west coast. I would also like to say thank you to Dawne of the Dreaming Zebra Foundation. If it wasn’t for her, this would not have happened. If you get a chance, please take a look at her web site. It is a wonderful and giving contribution to help the kids in art and music around the nation. (www.dreamingzebra.org)
I would like to give one more thank you to Matt Lit and Kris Lee, from the Dillon Art Center, for hosting me as the December featured artist in an Alla Prima Plein Air show. Please drop by and say hello if you are in the Lake Dillon area.
I am planning on doing my final painting of the year at our “Skate the Lake” New Year’s Eve Celebration. Please join us for a fun-filled night of skating, hot chocolate and fireworks. Here is the link for more information on the event: www.drivesmarte-c.org
Well that about covers November’s journey. I hope you have a great holiday season and New Years as well. Mark your calendars for the big show of Plein Air 365. The opening reception is January 8, 2010. The largest One Man Alla Prima Plein Air Art Show in the area!
Stay tuned for next year’s adventure of Plein Air 365…
Sincerely,
Ted Garcia
