May 2014
Welcome, my friends, to May’s journey of Plein Air 365â„¢ 2014!
Once again, I’m a bit late getting this out, but I hope you still enjoy a little flash back. What an exciting month of painting May was. As expected, it was filled with every kind of weather that a painter could ask for. There was snow, rain, fog, sun, and flowers everywhere!
The month of May is a month that I find to be one of the best months for me to paint. The weather isn’t too hot or too cold, and even when it snows, it usually is all melted away by the next day.
May brought the beginning of some of my favorite flowers to paint — lilacs! I probably tend to paint too many of them this time of year, but I can’t stop myself! I’m drawn to the amazing colors and delightful fragrance while painting. May also brought my next favorite flowers, poppies and irises! I just love to paint the wonderful colors of the flowers!
We also got to celebrate Memorial Day. Usually on Memorial day, I go out to the Fort Logan Cemetery, but this year I was at the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps rehearsal, and it just so happened to be right behind the National Guard Reserve. They had a great display of a WWII tank, and I just had to paint it.
Well, there is so much more that I would love to tell you about, but for now, please sit back and relax, and I hope you enjoy May’s journey!
May love fill your heart and art fill your world.
Best Regards,
Ted
