February 2014
Welcome, my friends, to February’s journey of Plein Air 365â„¢ 2014!
What a crazy month February was! With days of -12 degrees, followed by 40 degrees the next day, and then back to -12 degrees, what strange weather we had! At least there wasn’t ever a loss of scenes to paint!
I spent most of my time searching for cool blue shadows, warm crimsons, vibrant greens, and glowing snow. Even when it was snowing, the scenes were filled with great grays, along with a delightful soft pastel palette.
Now that we’re into March, I can almost taste spring in the air. The snow is melting on the flat grassland, the ice on the creek is subsiding to accompany the warmer days, and the willows are starting to get that spring glow to them. Soon the flowers will be blooming and the day will be filled with a mix of sun and rain. But, until then, I will enjoy painting the snow and all that the last of winter has to offer.
Well, there is so much more that I would love to tell you about each painting, but that will have to wait for the coffee-table book. So, for now, please sit back and relax, and I hope you enjoy February’s 2014 journey!
May love fill your heart and art fill your world.
Best Regards,
Ted
