August 2012
Welcome, my friends, to August’s Journey of Plein Air 365â„¢,
This month’s letter is a little late due to having a great time in Oklahoma for our nephew and new neice’s wonderful wedding. Then we stayed and had a great visit with the family. Now that we’ve returned home, it’s time to get back to business.
August was a great month of painting for me. We had a month of two full moons, including a once-in-a-blue-moon! I love the big full moons to paint by, it’s a challenge to try to capture the lighting and color.
August also brought the start of Denver’s Golden Triangle Plein Air event. This year it included a part of Evergreen called The Lariat Loop. The Lariat Loop is a National Scenic Byway of forty miles of western adventure and beauty. So, this year, I spent a few days painting in Denver, but I chose to spend most of my time painting along this wonderful forty mile stretch, filled with stunning prairies and mountain views, adobe forts, as well as some of my favorite animals, the buffaloes. Then, there were all the great edible treats for the artist that were provided by: The Fort, Christie’s of Genesee, Willow Creek, and The Mount Vernon Country Club. Thank you kind supporters!
Well, I could keep going on about all of the great things that I saw and had the good fortune to paint, but that would be a rather long letter, so instead, please sit back and enjoy August’s journey.
Best Wishes,
Ted
May love fill your heart and art fill your life.
