January 2012
Hello my friends, and welcome to January’s Plein Air 365â„¢ 2012,
I hope you are off to a great new year! I can’t believe we’ve been on a three year journey already, and my goal of painting over 1000 plein air paintings has been completed. My daily journey is just about over.
I bet you’re thinking, “I thought you said you were done last month?” I was planning to stop January 1st, but instead I thought I would continue to do a daily painting until the opening night of the Plein Air 365â„¢ show. I am tentatively planning the show this June. I will let you know the exact date, time, and location when I find the right venue.
So far January has been a great month of painting. We have had some great winter weather here in Colorado, and it’s made for some amazing scenes filled with cool color and a warm mood.
This January, I chose to paint a little closer to my home. Over the past 3 years I have traveled to a new location every day, intentionally not painting all the wonderful scenes that are in my own front and back yard. The reason was to get me out to find and see all the incredible things that are out there. However, I thought this is the year to paint as many of the charming local scenes as I can.
We thought we would try a new way to view the paintings this year, as well. Please give us any feedback that you might have.
Well, that’s about it for January. I hope you will enjoy the journey as much as I did traveling and painting it. Until next month, “May Love Fill Your Heart and Art Fill Your Life.”
Sincerely,
Ted.
