April 2010
Dear Friends,
Welcome to April 2010 Plein Air 365 by Ted Garcia.
Is it done yet?! I love the snow just as much as any other Coloradoan, but at this rate I won’t have any flowers until July. Oh well, I love where I live.
April was full of many trips to Red Rocks Amphitheater. I started to paint there due to the national graphic structure of the rock outcrops. I love the angles within the rocks contrasting with the open space of the sky along with the cross angle fragments of the prairie grass. The comparison of subtle colors of reds and greens within the rocks are miraculous. To paint the Red Rocks Park is truly a geological wonder of our state of Colorado.
April was also the beginning of the flower season. Tulips and Daffodils are starting to pop up everywhere and the flowering trees are just starting. This means I’ll be spending many days in Denver, a mere 30 miles down the mountain. At least the drive I use, takes me down a mile stretch of one of Colorado’s most beautiful scenic highways. For an artist, it’s not a bad drive at all. I can’t wait to start painting the colors of Spring. I hope you have a colorful month, and I will look forward to sharing May’s journey with you.
Sincerely,
Ted Garcia
May love fill your heart, and art fill your life.
P.S. I was accepted into the Plein Air Artist of Colorado Annual show. This is a Juried event in which I feel quite fortunate to be accepted. This year’s show will be held at the Prestigious Saks Gallery of Cherry Creek. The opening reception is June 15th, 2010. If you get the opportunity, it would be great to see you there.
Also, once again, thank you to everyone who has reserved their days so far. It’s still not to late to reserve your special day. Also, we are still looking for a new location to hold 2010’s Plein Air 365 show. Last year was a great success and this year looks to be even bigger! So if you, or perhaps someone you may know, would like to host this wonderful show we would like to speak with you.
