March 2009
Hello everyone,
Happy Easter! Wow, I can’t believe it’s April already.
I have just finished (or should I say my lovely wife) putting all of March’s paintings up on my web site www.tedgarcia.com. If you would like to see them, please visit. You may have noticed that this month’s email looks a little different. We hope you like it. If you see any problems, please let us know.
March was a crazy month to do any painting. It started with the passing of two dear family members. The strange thing was it was from different sides of the family. My wife’s Uncle Dwight and my mother’s companion Gary. The passing of our loved ones makes me appreciate the journey that I am doing even more. I give thanks for each beautiful day I get to see and the chance to try and capture a part of it on canvas with my brush, paint and soul.
We also had a had a chance to celebrate life this month as well. We had a “Big 16” birthday…My son’s. He turned 16 and now driving. I can’t believe how quickly time passes!
I would like to give a big thank you to Steve Sumner, Director of CAE and Becky Guy, Events Coordinator for the CAE as well as the whole Center for the Arts Evergreen. I am proud and honored to have them as a sponsor, not only our first sponsor, but for hosting Ted Garcia’s Plein Air 365, a show of 365 plein air paintings of 2009! What a great gallery to be able to show in. Thank you so much!
I would also like to thank Channel 4 News for spotlighting me while painting during the blizzard. You can see the outcome below. Here is the link to the broacast by Rick Sallinger and Photojournalist Tom Meyers (view at minute 1:36) CBS 4, Denver web site.
The Center for the Arts Evergreen hosts a wonderful monthly juried show. They are also host to and have a gallery area for the Evergreen Artists Association, and I must admit that I am a member, and it’s a great organization to be a part of. The Center For Arts Evergreen also offers a wide variety of art classes. They have a fantastic group of teachers, and I feel fortunate enough to be among such skilled artists and be able to teach classes there myself. If you would like more information about Center For The Arts Evergreen please visit there web site at www.evergreenarts.org.
I hope that you enjoy March’s journey as much as I did.
Thank you all for you kind words and support.
